About the role
Are you ready to make a real impact in information and records management? Join the NSW Trustee and Guardian’s Information and Technology division as a Team Leader, Records Management.
This role offers you the opportunity to oversee the day-to-day operations of records management functions, ensuring compliance with NSW Trustee and Guardian policies, legislative requirements, and records management best practices. The role will lead and support the Records Management Team to maintain efficient records management services, assist in the transition to digital records processes, and ensure accurate and secure handling of both physical and electronic records. The position contributes to NSWTG’s information management and corporate operational plans and plays a key role in managing records integrity, accessibility, and compliance, leveraging the NSW Government Capability Framework.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Records Management team in the provision of timely, accurate, and compliant records management services.
- Deliver high-quality records management services to meet both agency and legislative standards.
- Contribute to driving the adoption and use of OpenText Content Manager and other systems of record supporting staff with training and troubleshooting.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to records management, ensuring confidentiality, security, and accessibility of records.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, information technology, business units) to ensure records management processes meet business needs.

About you
We are looking for a dedicated records management professional with substantial experience in operational records management within a government or regulated sector.
You will have a proven ability to:
- Apply your in-depth understanding of records management legislation and standards to ensure compliance with the NSW State Records Act.
- Leverage records management to drive innovation, improve business processes, and ensure adherence to statutory and organizational requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Utilise strong stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams, including legal, IT, and business units, to implement practical and compliant records management solutions.
- Champion the adoption of modern records management technologies, such as OpenText Content Manager, providing training and support to staff as needed.
In this role, you’ll combine your technical records management expertise with a customer-focused approach, ensuring that records management processes are seamless, secure, and aligned with organisational goals.

Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in information management or other relevant fields and/or equivalent knowledge and/or substantial experience in the Information and Records management industry.
- Experience with OpenText Content Manager or similar EDRMS.
